Test to Release PCR test (with fast track option)

Cost: Standard test: £89 Monday-Friday
Fast track test: £99 Monday-Saturday

If you’re returning from abroad, Test to Release allows you to reduce your quarantine to 5 days if you have a negative PCR test.

If you select the Fast Track Service you will receive your results the day after your test between 9am and midday. (The majority of results are sent by midday, but there is a small possibility that your sample may require a re-test at the laboratory and this can slightly delay your result.)

If you select the Standard Service, you will likely receive your results by 6pm the next day. (There is a small possibility that your sample may require a re-test at the laboratory and this can slightly delay your result and you could receive the result the morning after that by midday.)

Fast Track Tests are available between 8am and 11am, Monday to Saturday.

Standard Tests are available between 11.20am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Under the scheme you can take a test 5 full days (or more) after you return.

Once you have booked your appointment with us we will email you your Patient ID Number, which you may need for  your Passenger Locator Form.

For more information, please scroll down the page and if you need help selecting an appointment, please click on the Arrange Call Back button.

How it works

  1. We’ll send you a Patient ID number when you book your test. You may need this for your passenger locator form.
  2. On the day of the test you will attend our private drive through test site (we don’t post the test to you to carry out yourself).
  3. Payment will be taken at our test centre (so there is no  cancellation fee).
  4. Our swab practitioner will carry out the test while you remain safely seated in your car.
  5. Swab samples from fast track tests (carried out before 11am) are couriered to our partner lab at 11.30am and test results are emailed and texted to you by midday the next day.
  6. Swab samples from standard tests (carried out after 11.20am) are couriered to our partner lab at 5.30pm and test results are emailed and sent by text to you either late afternoon on the day after your test or on the morning after that.
  7. Tests are carried out Monday to Saturday. Saturday tests are only available from 9am until 11am.
Please do not eat anything or chew gum immediately before having your swab taken.

Inconclusive tests

On rare occasions swab tests give inconclusive results, after which the lab automatically retests your swab. A retest normally produces a successful result, but could delay your result by a few hours.

Invalid results

On very rare occasions, a person’s swab test will be tested twice and still have an inconclusive result, meaning a second swab test will be needed. However, the invalid rate is just 0.2%.

The tests we use

The tests we use are manufactured by VIASURE and approved by the Department of Health, CE IVD marked and certified to ISO 13485.
